The TENT OF DAVID FELLOWSHIP had its initial gatherings in the summer of 2002, when a small band of souls moved to Kansas City with the call from the Lord to experience life together in Christ, pray for the fullness of God in the Church, and delve into the Scriptures as a people.
In Acts 15, James (Jacob) speaks to the saints in Jerusalem about the rebuilding of David’s tent. Quoting from Amos 9, he links the rebuilding of that tent with the effectual impact of the Gospel upon the hearts of men, which now included the ministry of reconciliation to God unto Gentiles as well as Jews.
In this light, the TENT OF DAVID FELLOWSHIP is a society of believers devoted to the Lord for the setting forth of His Son in the earth. We believe that the rebuilding of this “tent” will ultimately find completion at the end of this age when the Son Himself returns to permanently establish the heavenly government. But this “rebuilding,” in light of James’ (Jacob’s) message in Acts 15, is also taking place in this age wherever the Gospel is breaking into the hearts and minds of men, and wherever the saints are coming more fully into the government of God. The Church is called to be that Body of souls in which the increase of Christ and the Spirit and nature of His government are realized in every area of its life and mission.
The TENT OF DAVID FELLOWSHIP is a community of believers, jealous for the glory of God and the reality of the Church. Looking to Christ, and in light of His soon return, we are giving ourselves to the ministry of prayer and fasting, life together, revival, theology, and missions.
